In
the course of the last conflict with Ethiopia, several water
points of the target region have been destroyed or disrupted
on purpose or due to lack of maintenance, resulting in lower
water supply and quality, especially during the present period
with refugee/IDPs returning home. This situation has resulted
in worsened health and nutritional conditions of beneficiaries,
together with increases in time and efforts (by women and
children, especially) to gain access to water. Activities
to be implemented include: repair and rehabilitation of water
points (hand/engine pumps, wells, boreholes, water tanks,
accessories).
