REACH – Raising Environmental Awareness on Circular economy and natural Habitats of Cetinje and Lovcen

The REACH project – “Raising Environmental Awareness on Circular economy and natural Habitats of Cetinje and Lovcen” intends to promote the alignment of Montenegro with the European Union standards on environmental protection and the fight against climate change, through pilot circular economy initiatives and awareness-raising actions at the local level. The project promotes the cooperation and mobilization of different actors, active part of the local society (public institutions, schools, public and private economic actors, civil society organizations) to support the implementation and application of national and European policies in the environmental field.

The REACH project is funded by the European Union, with the management of the Public Works Administration of Montenegro, and is carried out in partnership with the local NGO My way and the Old Royal Capital Cetinje.

REACH is born to achieve three different objectives:
– increasing the capacities of the public institutions and the economic operators of Cetinje to develop sustainable circular economy strategies and reduce the environmental impact of production waste
– raising awareness of the environment, biodiversity, and climate change in communities by working with students and school staff from primary schools in Cetinje.
– raising awareness of the biodiversity and natural heritage of Lovćen National Park among tourism workers, the local population, and the public.
