Luca Mastripieri is the new Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation

After long waits and uncertanties, finally the Council of Ministers has appointed the new Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS.

Luca Maestripieri will cover this role, that remained empty for 12 months, after Laura Frigenti resignation.

Luca Maestripieri, 58 years, graduated in Law at Pisa University, currently covers the role of general vice-director for development cooperation (Dgcs) ad the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

He closely followed the process that lead to the definition of the 25/2014 Law on Development Cooperation and, in the same year, participated to the negotiation in New York that defined the UN 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, that now represent the root to follow.

He will not have an easy task, but he will find in the Agency officers and CSOs, the capacities, the expertise and the passion to support him.

Link2007 NGOs are, as usually, open to the dialogue, the innovation and the collaboration, to contribute to the strengthening of the Agency and to the quality and efficiency of the Italian Development Cooperation.
