Aim: The main aim of the project was to provide technical & vocational training to the conflict hit population of Aleppo in vocational training centres that are managed by the United Nation’s Development Program. With an extensive aim of providing trainings in 10 vocations, the idea was to enhance the skills of the local population with a strong focus on youth skilling (women and men). The on-the-job training component added further impetus to steps towards livelihood generation, economic empowerment and local resilience building
Results: 100 trainees from vulnerable backgrounds were selected for vocational training in 10 chosen vocations. Advanced and industry specific course curriculum were developed and disseminated. On-the-job and apprenticeship opportunities were provided to the trainees, enhancing market relevance. 100% tool kit provision. 94% jobs achieved post training.
