Since 2004 we support Kulbus (West Darfur) health care system through a Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC)and 10 local Units (PHCUs) located in the surrounding villages, and with this project we started a parallel basic nutrition program.
The project intervenes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of malnutrition cases affecting the most vulnerable population, namely children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women.
In Mastora, Rahat Rahma, Hajar Assal PHCUs and Kulbus PHCC, 4 specialized nutrition centers will open and health staff will be involved in specific trainings to identify and manage cases of malnutrition.
In parallel, an awareness campaign extended to the whole population will be carried out in the villages of the area, to spread the importance of nutrition issues.
