Aim: With a strong focus on Civil Society, this project aimed to strengthen local CSOs by enhancing their role in governance, social cohesion, and policy engagement. The core idea involved improving their overall capacities especially in terms of networking and advocacy efforts to foster a more participatory and inclusive civic space. Strong emphasis was laid on promoting democracy, human rights, and local development, ensuring their effective engagement with public institutions and communities.
Results: The detailed and particular emphasis on civil society engagement in this project led us towards the development of a strong CSO network. Here, we witnessed in the participants, an enhanced expertise in governance, advocacy, financial sustainability and service delivery. Further, collaborative platforms got established between CSOs, public institutions, and private actors to facilitate policy dialogue and joint initiatives. Strengthened CSO participation in policy-making was made possible by improving their ability to conduct evidence-based advocacy and engage in institutional dialogue.
