Made in Bekaa 2 | Collecting ideas, opening up new perspectives for Lebanese and Syrian youth

In the framework of FURSA project funded by the EU MADAD Regional Trust Fund led by Search For Common Ground (SFCG), COSV participated on August 4th, 5th and 6th in the exhibition entitled” Made in Bekaa 2” organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Zahle Lebanon.

 
The event set a unique networking and outreach opportunity for COSV in collaboration with Almajmoua NGO, as business development service provider within this project. This event was part of COSV outreach for the call for business ideas and was able to attract dozens of micro projects ideas applications from Lebanese youth from the Bekaa valley in the farmworker of activity 5, pilot livelihood micro projects.

 

Furthermore, during the three days of exhibition, COSV had reached out to SMEs, companies, cooperative, startup and INGOs, under one roof and had the chance to have access to those companies and to link the micro projects and vocational training participants for job placement, internship and apprenticeship.

 
COSV participation fits under the FURSA livelihood and social cohesion intervention targeting Lebanese and Syrians and in line with the collaboration with the chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture within the framework of this project.

 
Along the three days of the exhibition, over five-hundred SMEs, entrepreneurs, Lebanese politicians and diplomats, and Lebanese and Syrian youth, visited FURSA booth at the exhibition and received useful information on FURSA project, and on how to participate to vocational training, benefit from business development services and be awarded micro-grants for innovative business ideas on agriculture, apiculture, handicraft, poultry and services sector in the region.
